Its been a long time. Last year weaving took a back seat to family changes. Older family members required a good bit of attention while packing up their home and moving one to a nursing home and another to assisted living. Its been a time of change and a huge adjustment for the entire family.
We miss what was. The holidays felt so very strange. The house we went to for years to celebrate….now some other family is living there.
I was in mourning. I couldn’t write, create…I just found it all tedious.
And then came January and I decided that I would not carry the gray mood of 2014 into the new year. I was tired of being tired, of being sad, of just plain not living.
So, I got myself together. With friends I joined the Whole Life Challenge and began eating the way I should be eating, lost 10 lbs, and started taking an online tapestry class. Learning something new is good for the brain.
Life is looking up. Perhaps it is because we left behind the year of the horse and its now the year of the sheep. Whatever the reason, I am beginning to feel like myself again.
Whatever the reason. Its good to be back. Back in the studio. Back home.
